Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

My mailman didn't know where our house was before I started this. mail took months to get here. Now he knows and the service has improved by months. It really helps to get mail now and then.
I am looking forward to these exchanges. Now I must find a way to put them up to see and out of the book they are in.

This is my first challenge, too. I am drawing a strawberry with pastel pencil as we speak. It is on a leftover piece of sanded paper. It should be okay if I spray it with fixative when I'm done, right?

Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

This is the first exchange I've taken part in for a while, and I'm looking so forward to it. I just love getting the cards from all around the world, and almost every exchange I'm in, my cards all have to go overseas, but that is really special to me. I love to send and receive from all the different countries. OOOOOOoooooo it's exciting!!

Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

Hello everyone

This project looks like fun. I'm thinking of joining.
I can see myself doing the cards, mailing and receiving them with joy. But to be honest, I am a bit unsure about the commenting and responding part. It looks like a lot of typing time. I type slowly and have physical issues that flare up from too much computer time (among other things). So I wanted to ask - do you all comment on each card, and would you be offended if someone did not? I haven't done this before, so I don't know exactly how it goes. I don't want to sign up if I am unable to follow through properly. It doesn't help me that I am a wordy person by nature!

Regarding technique - would black or white be allowed, either mixed with the primaries or as an added accent or outline? And may we use different red/yellow/blue combos on different cards, or must we use the same three for all of the cards? I think this was asked before, but I didn't see the answer.

Thanks!

Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

I really don't care for myself if you use white and Black or which primaries you use. I just enjoy recieving cards.
I have 3 jars of paint and i will mix them up to make 3 more colors. From that I could mix again and increase the number.
Black, if I remember correcly is a combination of the 3 colors and white is no color so I don't see any problem.
I think it was mentioned way back that any color can be made from the 3 basic ones. It is just a sort of challenge to only use the 3.
I hope we have fun and don't get too strict with the rules.

I am well along in my cards..Just need the addresses to mail them out. I am curious about the cost of international mail. I am willing and hope to get as many as i send out. When do we get the list with the addresses? Can you tell I am really ready for this. I was worried about how I would come up with ideas but as I settled on a theme it is coming easy for me.
Hope to see some quick starters showing their art.

Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

Wow Sandybells already making cards. I have been away on holiday so now that I am back and given a few days to get my catchup done I will dive in also. Still have yet to decide 100% on a theme but I have some ideas so excited to get started.

Heidi I for one would not be offended if you do not get a chance to comment on mine.

Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

I am retired so after I got my landscaping done last week I figured this weekend was a great time to start! Let's get some artwork up for others to see and maybe be inspired! I tried to post mine but it didn't work because of the pictures being 200K each??? I don't know what to do to make them OK for posting.
Help, please?

Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

Do we post on line here, the cards we intend to trade, or the ones we get? or both, is there an etiquette about postings? Are we allowed post them elsewhere (websites, blogs etc.) before they are traded? Eileen

Re: Project Discussion: Primary Colors ATC Exchange

Maybe Chaos can give us some idea. Last project I semi participated in we waited until we received the card, sent a message to the sender and they posted it. That way everyone saw it at the same time and there was the wow factor for the receiver. Nice to not know what to expect on the card you are going to receive. You can rip open the envelope and be surprised.

-In the last one to post I resized the card so the long side was 400 pixels and it uploaded just fine.
