Capt. Elaine: I just cut my cards to size what ever paper I'll be using; some is bristol, stonehenge, watercolor paper etc. Its also a good way to cut those scraps of paper left over from another art.

Re: Project Discussion: Spring Fling ATC/Postcard

Hi everyone, I'm excited because I just got my mother, who's been painting for a short time, and loves it, to join us in this exchange. She's from Nova Scotia, Canada and goes by the user name SAF.

Oh NO another Newbie question... if you're doing Watercolor... how do you keep these little buggers from curling all up? I quickly stuck it in my journal and hope that will help it dry flat... only did the initial background color (and signed the back... took me forever just to do that... I'm such a goob).

Re: Project Discussion: Spring Fling ATC/Postcard

Hey Capt. Elaine! It's easy... I turn it over before I start and stick some rolled up tape on the back (I do the edges) and stick it to a piece of cardboard or something. I leave it on there until it's done, dry and ready to go. That way it stays flat the whole time I'm working on it. Works good for me, anyway.

Welcome Valri! I'm so glad you're joining the fun!

Hey Valri, glad you are in. It's about time I get another of your beautiful cards. I still love my purple kitty.

SAF/Darlene's mom welcome. We have enjoyed your daughter, now we can enjoy you. Just remember to have fun. And like Sue said, it is addictive. But such a nice addiction.

Hey if you are using a light weight paper it is a big problem but worry not!!! Signchick has a great idea and I have one for you too.
IRON it! YUP, you heard me right. Once it is dry just turn it face side down and dry iron it with a cloth over top.

Re: Project Discussion: Spring Fling ATC/Postcard

Guess what. Spring Fling is now full. Now the fun begins. I have already finished and mailed two of mine. One to Ai/Eye and one to Sue/Bigs. I cheated cause I already had their addresses. Be sure to send Tammy/tvandeb your addresses cause I'm ready to do some more.

Have fun everyone. Jeanne

Very beautiful colors in this. I received the companion piece which is wonderful in real life and I am sure J is very happy with this.

Yes I think this is great. Such bright and bold colors. And some purple. Everything looks good with purple.

Re: Project Discussion: Spring Fling ATC/Postcard

Thank you Bonnie, Jean, and J for kind comments. I hope some of you don't mind receiving cards earlier than expect. I was in the US. a week ago so I mailed three cards from the US. so they may arrive early. I had some of the addresses from other previous projects.
