Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

It was just duty visit to my mother, spend time with her and my sister in Raleigh. Nothing exciting I am afraid.
The UK time was much more exciting as I now have a new great granddaughter, seeing her at just one day old. Went to my grandson's gig and was floored by how the young boy had become a young man and the excellent quality of his performance. Lastly got to see my daughter perform her solo with the amazing Rock Choir from Farnham that she belongs to. Very much a satisfying time with both my daughters. Now I must get down to business; laundry and cleaning, not to mention a runaway garden!

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

Alright we are full, unfortunately Shower had to back out. I'm still waiting for two addresses, one of which I think may have joined accidentally. I've sent pm's to those who addresses I don't have, if I didn't send a pm to you then I have your address. So we'll have either have 18 or 19 participants.
Good stuff!
I spent the last few days getting my garden and house in order then my little dog decided to play under the deck I just had built. Unfortunately, there is clay under there and it just rained and he had so much fun. His feet look like big mud balls so after I give him a bath (then rewash the bathroom and all the towels, rotten little dog), I am painting myself silly today.

Thanks Hidden!

I'm such a doofus, I sent a pm to the wrong person so I just sent it to the right person. How embarrassing.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

Alright the addresses have been sent via pm. Hopefully I didn't miss sending a pm to anyone! There's eighteen addresses, if everyone could double check their own address and let me know if anything needs to be changed that would be great.

I'm ready to get started... Thanks for the addresses, a lot of familiar faces from the zentangle and primary colors exchanges.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

I have hunted for images - hopefully won't change my mind like I usually do . Anyway I hope to have them all done this week with a bit of luck.

EP I saw you there and thought of your love of colour - I have secretly thought of having one spot of colour in each card , but I will be good and stick to the brief ..........I do love my bright colours though.

Have cut up my cards and will its just started to rain and the temp has dropped again [Winter here].........after a trip to the shops I think its art weather!

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

I am looking so forward to this Exchange, as I love Black and White. I did my first one at night, lots of work in it, and I was very pleased with the final results. Next morning I had a look at it, and found it was Dark Brown. In the night light I couldn't tell the difference between dark brown and black. Oh well, I have a spare card for something else now. I have got cataracts, so I'm blaming those.

Thanks Virginia for all the work you are putting in to this Exchange.

Val.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

Virginia, you now have a red clay dog!!! lol, it reminds me the time my little Cairn jumped into some wet cement and I had to run with her in my arms to my friends house as they were closer, yelling, 'get out the hose, Poppy is covered in wet cement'. In this climate it dries fast! lol
Oh, so glad you did a 'silly', it is reassuring to me as I did a couple on my last trade. I was convinced you all would think I had dementia.
I have already started my cards!

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

That clay is awful! I finally had to go find a bit of fence buried in my shed and crawl around sticking it under the deck so he would stop doing that!
Poppy is such a pretty dog, that must have been so funny. Those little terriers get themselves in some trouble don't they.
Val, I did one with a warm grey and next to the cool greys, it looked brown too!
It's killing me not using color but it's good for me too, having to really look at shading. I can hide so many mistakes with colors, it's a bad habit, so this is turning into quite the lesson for me!

I'm aiming for something like I do with the WDE sketches or with zentangles.

Who would have thought that I would sign up for a B&W project?

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

I thought about zentangels too....cuz they are really fun. Instead I've inked a couple of cats...imagine that.

Virginia, thanks for the addresses, I have put them on a excel spreadsheet so I can keep track of everybody. The only challenge is to remember to note when cards are sent/received, sometimes I slack off.

I don't know what I'm doing yet for sure. I'm thinking maybe pan pastels. Ocean themed, sunsets, lighthouse, sailboat ...

What do you all think, being my first project?

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

That sounds good Diane! I always start off in one direction and I'm off in another. It's all good.
Lola, I always start off fairly organized then lose it slowly as I go on.
Usually I print out a list but my printer has decided it doesn't want to speak to my computer anymore. They had some sort of tiff I guess. A big blue error box that says they can no longer communicate keeps coming up, breakups are so sad. It's a pretty old printer so I'm going to have to go buy a new one. Hope my computer gets along with that one.
