Another good 'un. I like the shadows on Back of Cathedral Rock.

Re: Weekly Paintings - past - present & future

Hey Richard..haven't been on in a long while. Saw the beginning of the thread with the winter scenes in N.M. We are heading to Canyon de Chelly the middle of next month for a few days and then depending on time to Taos or Santa Fe (your old stomping grounds.) Picked that time because I am hoping for some snow to paint. Will see an old friend in Chinle, a great Navajo painter that I bought several paintings from him some years ago.
I see that you are still turning out paintings faster than Picasso could. You may need to put an addition on your new home to house them all
Max

Re: Weekly Paintings - past - present & future

Painted Desert 14 x 11 - canvas panel. this is a re-purposed piece in that I painted over the existing painting which I no longer cared for.
Using a palette knife I first put a thick medium onto the canvas depicting shapes that would fit into what I envisioned the painting to become. Once dry I use the palette knife to apply paint.

Great recycling. Love the colors and the touches of blue in the midground.

Excellent work, Richard, and yes, it's a nice way to upcycle materials.
