"Auto Repairs"

G'day

Here's another one from the pioneer village.

Thinking that the title is abit boring if anyone has any ideas for an alternative that would be great?

Rembrandt watercolours, arches 300gm 1/4 sheet

C&C welcome cheers

Re: "Auto Repairs"

This is wonderful, Bumpa! I'm no good at titles, but somehow, these two tired cars look like old friends to me.

Those tufts of grass are so lifelike!

Re: "Auto Repairs"

Bumpa, What a neat painting. It reminds me of a couple of old men sitting on a porch. I would go with Old Friends like Jenna said. Or if you want to be a little less obvious, Glory Days. Like these two are reminiscing of their better days on the road together. Titles should make people think.

Re: "Auto Repairs"

I'll add "Shop Talk" to a list of good ones already proposed.

Great painting, too--and indeed it fits into the month's theme. Maybe Jenna was hoping to lure you back.

Nicley done! So many possible stories and history to accompany this painting. Lots of good title suggestions from the others. Glad you shared it with us and glad your painting.

Re: "Auto Repairs"

G'day
Thanks so much everyone for your support, I really appreciate it.

Jenna - yep that's the sort of feeling I got too, in the reference photo they were some distance apart, but I wanted them to be 'buddies'
Lenore - aha! I'm working on another one for the 'challenge'. It is very hard to stop painting cars I've found.
Jim - thanks, Old Friends and Glory Days are both great titles... I'm spoilt for choice now!
Lisa - Shop Talk is great too.... I'm going to need to do a poll soon!
Ron, thanks, I'm really glad it tells a story, as although I never deliberately set out to do that I'm very pleased they turn out that way.

cheers

Re: "Auto Repairs"

Very magical looking surroundings for the cars - as though they would come alive any moment to yak away.

Re: "Auto Repairs"

Another wonderful addition to this series Bumpa. Either "Old Friends" or "Glory Days" would suit these old timers perfectly!
