The Three disGraces: Exaggeration, Disinformation and Obfuscation

Hey gang,

This is a riff on the concept of "code" for a project with my buds in the GOOPof7 up here. It is mixed media (acrylic, paper, glass, sterling silver leaf, pewter) on cradled birch panel 12"H x 18"W x 1.8"D.

As always, interested in your honest impressions!

Welcome back Rick! "Code" as in computer code?

I certainly am getting the Obfuscation part...lines and shapes that come in and out of view as your eye tries to figure out the layers. There's something quite intriguing about it.

Re: The Three disGraces: Exaggeration, Disinformation and Obfuscation

The concept came from a call for artists and we were inspired to respond. The call kept it vague, so we've been riffing on codified information, like written and oral language, programming code, symbols and symbolism, messages that are code for less politically correct messages, encryption and puzzles, data visualizations like charts and graphs, and anything else along those lines.

As someone who has been involved in information and data technologies and practices for 30 years, this feels right up my alley as an artist, and is the first time I've felt inspired enough to mix the two careers.

I took a certain political figure as my starting point for this one...

What a great concept for a call! Hahaha...I wonder what political figure you could possibly be thinking of that exaggerates, spreads disinformation, and obfuscates

Sadly there are so many to choose from that no one will ever know for certain.

Definitely obfuscation - but also neat!
