How about a selfie thread since it seems to be the craze these days. Hope it hasn’t been done.
Here is mine taken at the Calgary Stampede this past July. I am on the gondola ride across the fairgrounds.

and I’ll chuck in a tantalizing tale. The term selfie. When and where was it first used? I know because I was there at the time.

        Rich,
How come you had to set the bar so high? That is one of the best selfies I have ever seen. This should be fun. Good idea Rich.

I just don’t understand the “Selfie” rage. It seems very narcissistic to me. Never the less, here’s one I took for Facebook.

Okay, now that I bit the bullet I want to see ya’alls!!

I suppose everyone is allowed to take one self portrait. Simply because the technology has been there since the advent of the camera.

Robert Cornelius, an American pioneer in photography, produced a daguerreotype of himself in 1839 which is also one of the first photographs of a person. Because the process was slow he was able to uncover the lens, run into shot for a minute or more, and then replace the lens cap.[citation needed] He recorded on the back “The first light Picture ever taken. 1839.”
