Three Quarter horses in leather

I hope it is OK to post my leather artwork. I also work on colored pencils, ink, acrylic and oil, but wanted to share this one as it progresses if it is OK. Comments and critiques are welcome...thanks so much!

Wow, that's really cool! I don't see much leatherwork, so this is a treat.

Excellent leatherwork. It certainly qualifies as A&W art.

Re: Three Quarter horses in leather

I had a good friend that was a master leather artist. Because of her I dabbled with this art form a little many years ago. Looking good, will be watching..

Re: Three Quarter horses in leather

Thanks! I am making a purse. This side had the three tooled quarter horse heads and the other side will have a full body Quarter horse side view. I can't wait to see this one finished! So excited!

Re: Three Quarter horses in leather

I think working on leather is a little like sculpture or relief. There are leather artisans who even put a "padding" of leather dust behind the design to give it a more raised effect.
