A nice pen sketcvh of the intriguing animal.
I know of the Kraken through a much earlier sci-fi work 'The Kraken Wakes' (John Wyndham, 1953). Apparently the Kraken is part of Scandanavian mythology and goes back a long way.

Hey Mike love your lobster colours yes the paper needs to wet for the salt to work,if the salt is not dissolving then spray the area with aerosol bottle,yeah it's good to do something different like your version a lot.

Your title made me laugh out loud. We have that cheesy movie and dig it out every now and then, and even showed it to my science class when we were doing astronomy, because so many of the characters are also constellations.
I can see some of your salt effects and like your little lobster guy. Wish you had included a photo of yourself blue-faced!
