Panama City Beach plein-air

Here I got a sketch in while at Panama City beach on vacation this past week.

The weather wasnt real sunny, but we got out there while it was at least opening up some.

I'll probably tinker with some of the details and some of the lights and there was a flag (also a better lit finish pic--sorry).

Thanks for dropping in. B)

Nice. Wish I had that kind of talent. Did any other beach-goers stop to watch you or kibitz?

Hey, thanks, guys

Mike, yeah, it was pretty cool. I started drawing a crowd after about 30 minutes. I just thought it was awesome that folks were coming by and really enjoying the process.

A fellow named Andy really wanted to learn more about it, and it turns out he's a fire chief up in Toronto.
They've never seen artists out in the West end in their 20 years of vacation there, which I really found surprising.

I absolutely love the color scheme in this one, so much blue, it gives the feeling of peace and anti-stress.

Thank you, DMArtist7. I was concerned the pthalo was going to gloom too much on the half-casted day. In the photo there, the umbrellas look closer to ultramarine, but to the eye in person, the glare and eye fatigue gave that greener blue.

Yeah, it didnt want to stay out very often on our trip im afraid, and went in hiding 30 minutes into this guy.

Before I archive it, I'm considering expanding on the warmer triangle in the fore to implement the warm/cool sort of day it really was, which might help the figures and chair shapes "pop".

What do you think?

Re: Panama City Beach plein-air

It's a nice sketch. Maybe one or two warmer patches (as you suggest) would help.
