Sanlynn, those are both beautiful. The orange and white is so striking and the colors on the other suit it so well.

Re: P&I Forum Challenge - September 2019

An acorn in my mini sketchbook, which is 5x5 inches. The black was done with a steel dip pen, the colors were done with a glass dip pen.

For next month... a musical instrument

Love your acorn and the colour that you have incorporated within the shape, it just shines.
Thanks for the comments on my maple leaf.

Re: P&I Forum Challenge - September 2019

Virginia, that's a beautiful drawing of the acorn - line and subtle colouring, all in pen - gorgeous!

Bonnie - that sunflower looks just like the ones I saw on Monday - still tall, but bending with the weight of the seeds - so sad ... you've depicted it beautifully and I like the hint of still lively, sunny ones in the b/g!

Haven't used a glass pen - should look for one!

Re: P&I Forum Challenge - September 2019

Thank you for the lovely comments! I didn't like the glass pen at first but now I find it very useful especially for the shading part, I used the side of it, with it almost at a right angle.

Bonnie, your sunflower is wonderful. I've had to cut mine down, they were so top heavy. I like how you added your thoughts to the side. That's lovely.

Bonnie, you've captured the posture of the sunflower so well. Our goldfinches had ours empty within a week and a half. So great to hear them so joyful. Lovely drawing.

Re: P&I Forum Challenge - September 2019

Skip - I love that sunrise, very art-deco. I'm sure it would make a great wine label.
Sanlynn - those maple leaves are lovely, such attention to detail.
Virginia - nice acorn and great colouring. I'm not sure I have the patience to use a dip pen.
Bonnie - lovely bending sunflower. You have really captured the end-of-season feel.

That looks great, Potterspink. Nice shading!

"Appliances" is a good idea! I just had to buy a new fridge, for the amount it cost the least it can do is pose for me.

Re: P&I Forum Challenge - September 2019

Here's a butternut squash, my husband likes to grow them on a hill so he doesn't have to mow so I have a ton of squash. I'm eating this one for dinner tonight.

Done with a dip pen for the black and glass pen for the colors, 5x5 inches.

For next month, something to do with Hallowe'en.
