Beautifully composed & painted Wes – You have cropped the image perfectly, resulting in the ideal placement of that upright structure & those directional lines lead the viewer right there – Great job on a difficult subject. Well Done !

Its excellent, Wes! I know you like your cityscapes, so you must have enjoyed painting this and you deserve to be very pleased with the result. The sky, perspective, cars and the colours in the pavement are super.

Cool! Nice job simplifying the extreme complexity of the cityscape, I love the composition and that backlit monument, and great job on all the little details, too. Not an easy subject, but you nailed it!

Lovely work Wes that sky is a dream and the use of colour in your painting really goes so well to let the sky tell a story. Not an easy work to do yet you have done a great job!

Thanks Jon! The statue is the “Soldiers and Sailors” monument that is downtown Cleveland public square. It is a Civil War monument. It was difficult to make out the figure with the angle from the side and the way it was backlit.
