part my photo and part plein window...

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this one. I wanted to give a Thank You gift to the man who fixed my car in the freezing cold weather yesterday. While he was working on the car, I was sneaking photographs of him out the window. I tend to do that a lot. So I decided the best way to thank him would be to do a painting of him working on the car. I painted this one from my photo, along with the view of my car outside my studio window....

Shane fixing my car. 6x6 acrylic on an 11x14 watercolor paper.

He was so happy when I gave it to him today. I think I really surprised him!

It's a nice action painting and the red truck behind the man is unusual, it works and give the whole painting a lot of zing, depth or dimension. He should love it, I do.

Thanks Aleada! The red truck is Shane's and it's his pride and joy. I figured he would love having it in the painting. I'm so glad it all works.

I'm still so tickled thinking about his huge smile when I gave him the painting.

Great painting and what a good use of your talent, to gift it to the man!

Nice painting! You have turned a problem into a something nice for both of you. He has a nice painting, and you had a good opportunity to paint. Not to mention you got your car fixed!
Merry Christmas!
