Liking the landscape Hal....
I've been so bus I haven't even had a chance to do my own challenge
Thought a few more folks would have joined in so I guess others are busy too. But many thanks to those that have and just a reminder that even when we start a new monthly challenge you can still post your completed pieces form this one on here.

Thank you Lin, we're missing you.
Of course I know you have a show to prepare for. I just checked my inventory of new paintings and have 18 to frame before my summer fair season starts in a couple of weeks.

Re: Op Challenge May 2012
Just catching up with the latest submissions,
Sandra i like your colour scheme for the landscape you have totally changed the mood almost like a nocturne scene.
Hal, I like the final additions (and the crop )
Mark, your fisherman looks great, i can't wait to see what solvent inspired masterpieces you produce now you have dipped your toe in the water/turps
Vc Joseph, thanks for the very nice comment on my cherries, I wish i liked them as much , all i see is abject failure, but I guess we don't learn unless we try new things

Re: Op Challenge May 2012
Hi all,
Oh yes, I too have very busy times. I would be happy to be more present in the forum but there seem to be no chance.
Nevertheless, today evening I sketched the lamb. It is only a fast sketch, about postcard size.
Best,
Evalisa

Re: Op Challenge May 2012
Yes thanks for joining in - all welcome. Lovely lamb
Sorry I've been unable to participate myself. We've had this rare thing happening - called Sumnmer! yes nice weather so i've been out and about in it. Too hot for Ops in the garden. So been busy with CPs to get bits done for the UKCPS exhibition submission
Thank you all for joining in.
Will get round to a gallery as soon as I can.

Re: Op Challenge May 2012
Here's my freshman attempt at oil pastels... any words of wisdom would be appreciated. This was a pretty fun drawing to do! I don't really like how my leaves turned out, and I didn't have all the right colors, so those are off.

Re: Op Challenge May 2012
Quite nice for your first attempt at OPs...I'd be careful of your values in the upper left corner as the yelow is the same value as the flower.
What kind of oil pastels are you using?

Re: Op Challenge May 2012
Stephanie, it's a lovely piece of work especially considering the surface you worked on. You've handled the medium nicely.

Re: Op Challenge May 2012
Thanks!
Pat, I'm just using the crappy Pentel set that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I thought that the oil pastels would be an awesome medium to try, so I figured I would buy and try. Trying to learn as much as I can, and then I came across this site and was amazed!!!
