If you're referring to Wallis...as Sketchcny & Jess noted..
For those (like myself) that are missing Wallis paper, it has re-emerged as Pastel Premier. It is available in packets, single large sheets, and rolls. Looks like Kitty sold to a paper manufacturer who is able to mill this product consistently. I acquired it through www.dakotapastels.com and www.dickblick.com -- there may be other vendors, as well.

Yes, I am referring to Wallis. A new manufacturer means a new product, which should get new reviews. I have also heard recent grumbling about Uart. Not to mention new products, like Uart dark.

This poll is about 7 years old. I'd do it myself, but I don't know how.

Re: Which 3 brands of pastel paper do you prefer?

I like to use Fabriano Ingres paper which unfortunately only in a DinA 4 spiral block.
I would like to have it in DinA3 and as individual sheets.
It is good for practice and relatively cheap 100 sheets for about 8 €.

Otherwise, I like Fabriano Tiziano.
I think it's good that it comes in packages DinA3 and 4 and there are many colours that can be bought as packs.
The price of this paper is also good.
Unfortunately, dark blue is not available as a pack.
Otherwise, I like to use rough kraft paper.

The mi-teints of canson have a good price. I have not tried it yet.
I save the touch paper for colour pencil pictures, with normal paper I can not reach these even areas.

I can also work well with pastel on normal rough paper, so I do not need something special for that.
kind regards Macarona
Stay calm you can not protect all people from mistakes they make. They should also be allowed to learn from mistakes and gain experience. Especially financial mistakes. What were the grumblings about UArt? I adore UArt, except for the 600 grit dark (it has lines in it).

I, too, love UArt, Sarah. I have used 400 and 500 grit. I also love the dark UArt, as the colors just seem to pop! But to each his own.... it's nice to have choices. I'd like to ask the group.... is there a difference between Canson Mi-Teintes and Canson Mi-Teintes "Touch?" If so, what is the difference?

Best wishes to ALL!

Over 30% voted for Wallis. Where do you purchase or obtain Wallis paper? I can't find it for sale and the company is on hiatus. Thanks

Yes, Kitty Wallis sanded paper was the paper of choice for a long time. I believe she had production issues. Check out Karen Margulis' blog... and Ellen Questel.

It will be exciting to try some of these. I've only used Strathmore.

other; Strathmore® 300 Series Charcoal Paper. I like the 11x17 size and the light texture of the paper
