8.5×5.5 watercolor and ink on Masters sketchbook page done today as part of an ongoing love affair I have with limes. Pie or cheesecake featuring the small green citrus fruit is nice as is a slice on the salty edge of a margarita or a swirl (sangria + frozen margarita), and even iced tea. Micron 01 pen used to do initial sketch.

June 9, 2018 at 3:14 pm #636141I have to confess Kay, I was initially attracted by the title. My wife and I first tasted Key Lime Pie when we visited Key West…well a long long time ago. Fond memories indeed, sitting on the stylish deck of The Reach hotel and eating a little heaven on earth.
Your rendition of the Key lime slice is equally stylish…..yummy.
As long as there is light, I will paint it.

June 23, 2018 at 2:30 pm #636134Thanks Viv! I bet you’d like the taste. When first developed it was a close cousin of the lemon meringue pie only using lime juice. Now it has lots of variations and my favorite one is using sweetened condensed milk, Eagle Brand. Some frozen recipes are good, too.
