WOOOOWHOOOO! Knocks my socks off! Thank you for posting these Digi!
Makes a person wanna paint!
I rarely visit Sijun, but am allways blown away by the fab talent there. It's not as user friendly as WC (IMHO). ....and some not very nice comments are sometimes stated there...the nerve of some peeps!
I feel that when we share our art it is like sharing our hearts.....quite vulnerable tender little things.....to be treated with the utmost (sp?) respect.
But, that's just me

Thumbs up

Cool Digistyle, I love the work at Sijun... and a nice precursor to our own forums' Art Project for December... I'm making a LOTR theme based project next month, since the next installment hits theaters...

Hope you're all game...

I hope you're not expecting us to paint like Mr. Robcamp!

Blueyog, I agree. I'm definitely inspired!

jana, sijun can be kinda raw, but that just part of its charm! Ive picked up a quite a bit of useful information there but, I like the interaction here at WC better.

hlee, the technique is a lot easier than you might think. I tried it out about a month ago and was really pleased with the results and how straight forward the process was (Of course, I've got a loooong way to go before I'll begin to approach his technical accuracy and use of color!).

This painting was done using Robcamp's portrait tutorial:

This is the link to both the protrait and the LOTR tutorials: http://www.robertocampus.com/n_tutor...?type=tutorial

I hope you guys got to see Shin's works, too (the links to the pics were down shortly but they're up now.) He's also posted some great dragons in that thread.

Bobby, I'm looking forward to your project. I didn't buy the first dvd release of LOTR because I knew they were planning to release the special edition that came out this month. Now I'll have plenty of reference material to work with! (Rubs his hands in anticipation, muttering "My precious!" over and over again! )

Absolutely not... I'm still trying to think of an interesting angle... to make it more than just a fan art project... it'll come to me, just gotta clear the cobwebs...

(Breathes a sigh of relief and grins)

Easy for you, digi, as is obvious from the smooth tones and colours of your very lovely painting ... but thanks for the link.
