Reworking an old painting

Hi, just started reworking this today. First up blocking out the old centre image and seeing what would happen. Now need to wait for oils to dry before more. will add to post as progresses

I really like the brown background organic forms, nice contrast with the grey thing in the front...whatever it will be.
I'll watch for updates.

Re: Reworking an old painting

Thanks for the comments, I'm still thinking about direction but as with most of my work it will evolve once the stereo is on, volume cracked up, and tunes driving.....
I can see the start of a form evolving. A possible mixture of organic and hard metal.......I tend not to have a known end but wait to see were the paint and brushes take me. I have found that if I want to paint a certain thing I am never happy as it never looks as my mind saw it...

I love WIP's, looking forward to seeing more. That shape in the background onj the left is fantastic, I like that.

Oh I like the tentacle/fingers things!
The colors and textures are looking cool too, more defined and richer.

Re: Reworking an old painting

Had another play today and as you can see a wee bit of a change. I think it's starting to evolve in to something... The finger looking things may yet return, but for the moment I need to let the paint dry..
Was quite a bit of wet on wet painting today. Cheers

Re: Reworking an old painting

Wow, what a change, I like it. The fingers gave it a more sinister feel, this is more organic. The shading is fantastic.

Re: Reworking an old painting

Was working on painting this arvo but it wasn't playing ball so ended up rehashing the entire canvas. Now have a new background for next project.
