Flower Class Corvette.
I have a soft spot for this one, it was the first night time painting I ever did, and every time I look at it , I'm reminded of an old boy who lived in the next stair to the tenement I was brought up in ,in Leith. Jimmy Bannen was his name, a paddy, with a brouge you could cut with a Knife!, That was where I first heard of Flower Class Corvettes, I was about 10 years old, but daft on ships and aeroplanes. He didn't talk alot about the war, but he did show me his Ziess Binoculars, he got them off a Uboat. No heroics boarding with a cutlass in his teath. He 'won' them when they were sorting out the U boats at the surrender.
Thanks Jimmy, there were a lot of unsung heroes like you.
