Re: A Fist Full of Pencil Shavings

nice sketches

Answer to your question - When out plein air I work pretty fast because the light will change (fast here in the UK!) so no not multiple, one sketch at a time usually. But I aim to finish in an hour if possible for the more finished ones, 90 mins max - only minutes for very quick sketchy ones.

Re: A Fist Full of Pencil Shavings

I'm glad someone else asked the question I was thinking. Still, for the amount of detail you pack in, 90 mins seems short.

Your work is so textural and full of energy!

....and whyyyyy did you make the wooden mannequin creeepy? It's haunting my braaaaaaiiin.....lol.

ETA: The cover page you did with just shades and textures in the background and a flower in front is brilliant and has given me all kinds of ideas... I keep going back to stare at it.

Vhere: Thanks. I hear you on the ever changing light. Not as troublesome as the dynamic weather - particularly in Wales where you seem to enjoy spending some time.
Joan: Appreciated.
jstarn: Sorry about the mannequin manipulations, haha. Thanks all the same.

Re: A Fist Full of Pencil Shavings

I don't like responding to this thread unless I have something to post, but I'm branching out, so I guess I'm covered.

Eyepaint: Thanks. More faces on the way from my garden.

Triduana: Much appreciated. Be careful about enjoying "everything", else you get put on the watch list like me.

KreativeK: Thank you. Always a delight? We'll have to do something about that!

vhere: Appreciated, as always. Your way with thicket and bramble is giving me ideas.
