Jack

Hello all! This is one of my latest paintings done on a 6 x 8 inches panel. For this painting I used raw umber, burnt umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, nickel yellow, viridian, ultramarine blue, Gamblin's van dyck brown, and flake white.

Comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking!!!!

Re: Jack

It is a nice painting. Have you considered the creation of transparent shadows?, they would look more natural, it would take a little more time though.

Re: Jack

Humbaba, your comment on Jack mentioned "transparent shadows". I don't know what you meant by that, could you clarify please?

Thank you, Humbaba!! Yes, that's the effect that I was after on this painting.maybe I missed it a little bit, there's always something to learn!

Thank you, Derek! Yes, the photo is a bit dark..I'm still sweating trying to take better pictures on my dslr camera..I might have to learn how to adjust it to take lighter pictures.

Thank you, ianuk!! I appreciate your kind compliments!!

Re: Jack

Excellent work, Jose! I had to chuckle about the little note in the bottom right.

Thank you, AnnieA! Yeah, that little note says it all: Did I fool your eyes? Did you think it was real? If I did let's call this painting a trompe l'oeil!
