Re: landscape 4

This is pretty & very calming..
I wonder how a bluer shadow would look.., just thinking out loud..
don't let shadow get wider than the tree
soft light = soft shadow edges..

My same comments about the branches that I made about your other painting also apply here. I also agree with JMW about the shadow of the tree trunk.

Re: landscape 4

Agreed about the shadow.

Apart from that, this is a nicely stylised painting with the tree giving off a semi-abstract feel, in fact the entire scene looks and FEELS like a semi-abstract piece, a genre I particularly like, especially when combined with a hint of impressionism. The warm colours, and I note they're not showing correctly, are actually very pleasing, in a contradictory sort of way, but they are effective.

One thing that is definitely worth noting is that this landscape is definitely one to catch the eye.

Re: landscape 4

Thanks jmw, tom and beemax.
It helps a lot to hear your impressions. Gives me some things to think about.

Fixed the shadow size. Think ill keep the purplish color of it. The colors around it are blues purples and pinks, this a touch darker, might not translate well in photo. The tree is a blackish purple, and more red and orange near the sun.
