into the sea of stars (image heavy)

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: into the sea of stars (image heavy)
Year Created:
Medium: Oil
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 48 x 36
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
This was done a year ago. It was my first large painting, and first knife experiment. It was done for my brother. It was meant to express an experience I had alone in the mountains at night floating on my back in hot springs while staring at the stars.
sorry for so many pictures, trying to give an idea of the texture and the different mood when light is dim or bright, which is important to the expression.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Anything. Didnt post before bc its an early experiment i have a love hate relationship with, and is so difficult to get a decent picture.

"Starry Night over the Rhone." Reminded me sharply of that painting, Sevan, with its nod to Vincent van Gogh. I don't know if you still have access to this painting to make any changes but there's not much to suggest. It has immediate impact and the impression is stunning in many respects. The semi-abstract style and the heavy strokes of paint, combined with the sweeps of knife work, catch the eye immediately. It's certainly bold and the textures are superb. The brighter images have more appeal for me, but that's just a personal thing.

Great stuff.

PS

The nose is off centre but it doesn't really matter.
