It's OK to Paint from Photos!

Artist Ian Roberts is back on ArtistsNetwork.tv with a series of videos that shows you not only why it is ok to paint from photos, but photos can actually make your paintings better!

This week is the first in his new series of Mastering Composition from Photos videos: Landscape Painting. You'll learn you how to breathe life into your paintings with strong composition, dramatic light effects, and techniques for fresh color mixes, values, and edges as you paint from photos. Ian begins with exercises on what makes a good photo and design, and then moves into a step-by-step painting-from-photo demonstration of a poppy field in light and shadow. Follow along to paint this beautiful landscape and enliven your work with these techniques to create stunning paintings every time.

Preview Mastering Composition from Photos: Landscape Painting now for tips on how to manipulate your photos, create a "roadmap" for your painting to improve the composition, and paint simple shapes for landscape painting success.

Then visit ArtistsNetwork.tv to access the full-length instruction. AND--Register here to watch Ian's Top 10 Tips for Painting from Photos video for FREE!
