Linda it's always a pleasure to see your strong signature style. Love the muted colors in this.

Like the way youve done the foliage, with detail and suggestion where appropriate. Arnie

Re: Merritt Island Palms
I like the use of contrast, and your use of darks. The colors are great as well.
The composition bugs me a bit, in that the foliage across the bottom is a bit too "frontal" for me. It creates kind of a visual fence that keeps the viewer from entering into the painting. It would feel a bit more welcoming if there was a low spot in the foliage, or a path into the trees, or place to "enter" into the forest. But if keeping people out of a dense woods is what you are going for, it works well.

Re: Merritt Island Palms
You may be sorry for the glare, but we would be even sorrier if you hadn't posted this. I know that grass really does appear as a barrier IRL, but I can see a path I would take if I had to get over to those trees anyway
Good going Linda.
Regards,
Trier

Re: Merritt Island Palms
Trier,
How kind you are. It may not be noticable in my poor photography but there is a fairly good sized space in the trees behind the two prominant palms. Sometimes I dont really feel the need for an obvious path in the composition.
