polarised sunglasses

I have written before about the difficulty of using the camera's LCD screen in bright sunlight.
It seems more & more cameras are being marketed with no form of viewfinder.
A friend made a suggestion the other day about wearing polarised sunglasses to counter the reflections from the LCD screen.
I was wondering whether any member had any experience of this idea.

Re: polarised clip on sunglasses

Yup, I use my husband's fishing glasses. They come in various shades for various light conditions. You can get the good ones at any fishing/sports shop.
Brown or Gray lenses are the best.

Re: polarised sunglasses

OMG, this is such good news. I had no idea that this would work. I can't wait to try it out on my new Canon SX260. When I take a photo with it in the bright sunlight, I just hold the camera up with one hand and cross my fingers with the other because I can never see what I am taking pictures of.

You are so smart.

Re: polarised sunglasses

Thank you vmrs, it looks like the idea has some merit.
Have ordered a pair of clip-ons for my glasses from Ebay

If you want to save some money - your choice - take a good sized black bath towel - and use it like a cover for an old sheet film cam of the early 1900's.
Cover meaning over the head and over the cam. This makes it like it is a darkened theatre - depending on how much covering you use.

I always carry one.
