Joan - Love how you do the ink wash. It looks like a monochrome watercolor.👍🏽

EP - You got it!

Pine Cone - Lurk, post a drawing, post a comment…even just a Hi. Miss your comments which usually result in me learning something.😎

Ai - Nicely drawn. And once more thanks for sharing s bit of your culture with us through your art.

Keep sketching
Joe

Re: Scavenger Hunt #607 Oct 20-28

Thanks for your comments everyone! My nephew and his wife (who live in the town we were visiting for the wedding) wanted my three little sketches to frame and put in their house. How could I refuse?

Ai - Nice detail on the snake creature.

Pine Cone - You know we enjoy having you here looking even if you don't get a chance to post.

Individuo - You did a great job on the sine to the hangar...good shadow too.

Individio - nice job on hanger including reflection and shadow.

Joan - All 3 are well done! But there is something about the clock tower that keeps drawing my eye.

Keep sketching

Re: Scavenger Hunt #607 Oct 20-28

Ai - Nice set of pen sketches. Do you get to use any for Inktober? I truly envy those of you who draw direct in ink. My eraser is as important to me as the media I use.

1 window
2 lamp
3 radio
4 oval (candle)
5 rough (fan)

This started out to be a charcoal under drawing for a pastel painting but too many glitches, screwups and errors as well as lots of detail so it stays a charcoal drawing. As you may be able to tell I misjudged the size and ran off the paper. I started with the lamp and made it too low and too large. Charcoal does not lift or erase as I remember. I also used a ruler for the blinds.
ArtAgain light gray paper using vine charcoal and charcoal pencil plus multiple erasers

Keep sketching
Joe

...

Joe: Yes, I use all of them on my Inktober album on FB (I might upload them later as a final set)... About an eraser ... When I draw direct in ink ... I do not normally produce great drawing every time. Sometimes I make mistakes and sometimes I do several versions. So in that later case I will post the best version to this Wetcanvas ...

Joe: Great sketch of radio still-life. I miss this classic radio.

individuo - Very nice shading, highlights and shadow on the hanger.

Joan, the bridge and fall scene is lovely. I like the windows, great detail. The clock tower is fantastic.

Ai, your plump made me smile. A plump teapot. Fun! The other lines are great on your sketches, very well done.

Joe, great shading and lines on your corner of the room. The only radios around here are in the cars. I envy your charcoal and graphite work.

I also use a light drawing with pencil if the ink sketch is large or special?? Today I drew the basket, jug and tool with pencil just so the size placement would be OK and the pottery would fill the basket. Sometimes if I don't do that, the pot runneth over or is half empty. Ha. I didn't even erase the pencil today, probably should have. Not sure how Inktense erases since it is water soluble.

Number 1, ancient - pottery, basket, jug and tool or weapon

I sketched in the big book with Prismacolor 03 and Inktense. I haven't used Inktense but a couple of times, kinda nice.

Thanks to Joe it fits for Inktober as well, today is Ancient.

Joe, thanks! Oooh, I love that radio. You don't see too many of those any more. Aside from in the car, who sees radios any more? I remember when I was attached to my transistor radio. Nice sketch!

Ai, thank you. Good group of sketches! Nice shape to the teapot. Are the sweets pastry or candy? I'll take either. lol

Jo, thanks! The lines on your treasures from your travel are great. Your basket is so interesting.
