Re: Shipbroker RIP
So sad to hear that Geoff has passed away. When I was a Washer regular Geoff, JJ, Lulu, Doug and I would all try to open the Daily Wash, and as Geoff didn't sleep well he was so often be first. He was a man of few words but he always had something to say, he had a good sense of humour and never offended anyone.
Condolences to Eileen and Claire, who we know so much about but never met. Goodbye old friend, you have beaten us again to open the Wash in a better place. RIP.

Re: Shipbroker RIP
I read the Wash much more often than I post. Geoff will be missed. My condolences to Eileen and Claire, and also to Geoff's Wetcanvas friends.

Re: Shipbroker RIP
Geoff was such a big part of the Watercolour Forum and the Daily Wash in particular. He's going to be missed by all. He's going to be missed by me.

Re: Shipbroker RIP
I also never met Geoff in real life, but felt I knew him. Loved reading the traded quips. RIP. Will miss your presence in the morning. My deepest sympathy to Eileen and Claire.

Re: Shipbroker RIP
It's been a while since I posted here, but this is such terribly sad news. I'm so sorry for his family and send them my condolences. I will miss Geoff's posts. His sudden passing also reminded me that our time here in life is so very short, and so precious. Don't save "the good stuff" for later. There is no day more special or important than this one. Take out the good paper. Use it. The good brushes and the special paint. Use them. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Re: Shipbroker RIP
I, too, will miss Geoff's posts, a steady constant near the beginning of the wash. He helped me with my genealogy searches too, and I enjoyed the occasional files that he sent privately, especially the greeting cards! My thoughts are with Eileen and Claire.

Re: Shipbroker RIP
Geoff was my friend. He and I joined Wet Canvas just a month apart over thirteen years ago. We communicated via email often, sharing personal stories and humorous jokes.
My wife, Janet and I were able to meet Geoff and his wife Eileen in the small, idyllic village in 2010 when visiting with Doug and Ruth. Eileen prepared a delicious dinner and afterwards we visited the lovely pub two doors from his home. We stayed the night in their home and arose the next morning to a lovely breakfast.
Geoff was a fine artist and often created paintings as gifts for his friends. I have kept his wonderful Christmas cards showing his paintings. i will miss them and I will miss Geoff. Sleep soundly my friend.

Re: Shipbroker RIP
So sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. Like many others who had never met him in person, I enjoyed reading his posts and his dry sense of humor. Rest in peace Jeff. Condolences to his wife and daughter at this terribly sad time.
