Grapes On Wall

Hello! I havenít posted in a while. I am really pleased with my latest class work. I used Rembrandt soft pastels and a couple of CarbOthello pastel pencils for some detail work. Itís on burgundy ColourFix paper and 12x16.5 inches. Reference picture is from the online class Iím taking. It was an exercise in color theory. I also posted the charcoal relief piece I did prior to starting the color version. I found it helps me so much with getting the tonal values down in my head before starting my pastel. Plus the second go with the same piece improves my drawing skills!

Re: Grapes On Wall

Welcome back! You have captured the volume of the grapes quite expertly. Your cast shadow works well. Often that becomes flat, but your incorporating the mix of colors overcomes that.

Another beauty. I like the shadow and shapes. Well done.
