I enjoy painting my interpretations of works by artist I admire – call it “copying” or whatever, but I like doing it – Here’s one I did this spring on Winslow Homer – The Blue Boat – quite poplular up here in the Adirondacks.

I do not know Winslow Homer, but I like these bright colors. I will google his name… Thank you for the sharing.

Comments and critics welcome. I want to progress!

I wouldn’t call it “copying” at all. I have done the same thing not to have a classical reproduction of the painting, but to learn from the composition, colors, style, technique, etc… There is a LOT to be learned when reproducing masterpieces. Keep up the great work! :smug:

FYI: Do you live near Boston, MA? You can find Winslow Homers “The Blue Boat” at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. ~T.J.F.
