We were chatting in Oil Gusher this week about photos of place we have been to that some of you might like to share.
I made this thread so we could post interesting pictures of places we have been that we could share and use.
I will post some of my photos, including ones from the County where I live and some from my travels that some of you might like to use, perhaps for Weekly Drawing or whatever.

April 2, 2009 at 6:09 pm #504921Here are a few from Warwick Castle. I went one one of the weekends they had a jousting event on. I was sat on the floor with my old film camera before it gave up. It was letting the light in, hence a few freaky areas. These were taken a few years ago. Not all great compositionally, but you can use them if you feel inspired.
I now have a better digital camera. I haven’t been since I got that.
apologies for quality.

April 2, 2009 at 6:29 pm #504923Beautiful Kcm,
and can we use these as refs if we like?
I will never get to the USA to see all yoru stunning views.
In UK we have a lot of historic buildings and heritage but very little in the way of panoramic views or cool geological features.

It is totally covered in water lillies. I have yet to see them all open though. I’m not even sure what month they open in England. I need to go at the right time.

No problem, be my guest … I already painted the one with the split rail fence in it… I loved the perpective of it.
I will probably never get to England either and that is one place that I would really like to visit (I’ve alway told my DH that.) So it’s not something that I just now thought about…
A few more photos of Mt. Zion…
This is the one I painted…
Sorry, just had to post the results… the devil made me do it….
Here is the other photos…
This one is of a park near the area where I live… Hammock State Park (Sebring, FL.)

April 2, 2009 at 8:15 pm #504926That painting is so lovely kcm, glad you posted it.
I liked that pic too and toyed with doing it in Ops :PI love the waterfall too.
I doubt I’ll never get to the US. I may now only get to go to France again as I have a Frend there who rents me her flat cheap in Lion-Sur-Mer, on the Normandy coast, just along from Trouville where Monet liked to paint and some of the others.
I might also get to Ireland sometime. It has always, also been a desire to go to Norway. But for now, I shall only managage the Uk.
I have photos from France too. I had some of Spain but my horrible Ex stole those along with all the Normandy ones. I only have the Paris and Alsace ones left now.
But as so many of you like England and Wales I can keep you posted with those.
Bill
Hmmm, well as much as I would like your England ones, I would prefer somewhere I’ve never been, so Russia, Mexico, would be especially nice.

April 2, 2009 at 9:02 pm #504743Wow! Thank you so much, both of you! Oldrockchick, this was a wonderful idea and you have me dreaming of the UK again so much. Love those narrowboats on the canals. kcm, yours are great too. I do like grand geological features too, but Kansas hasn’t got much of that.
I don’t have any good photos to post. I had some from Colorado but they are on a now-defunct computer, if I ever get to retrieve the stuff on its hard drive I will post them. Wish I could contribute something good to this.
Bill, I would love to see more of Russia but also the UK stuff. Any of yours would be cool.

Loads of tanks, bunkers and even the old Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches. I also visited the American cemetary and the memorial. It is high up and overlooks the sea, a most beautiful sight. It is the same one used at the start/end of Saving Private Ryan. You guys would have loved it. Plus all the photos of the architecture, and the tanks. Damn my horrible ex!!!!
