Yes! I am learning to do that!! Not easy if you don’t start out that way, so I will endeavor to get it beforehand with my next one! I was a little bit at a loss to begin with, but studied some pastel portraits and I believe they added the background first!!

Lovely pastel! I always lay in the background first as well – many years of ruining my work putting in the background last!
