Re: Fishing Boats at Low Tide

lovely, brian. great moody atmosphere.

although you don't solicit c & c, please allow me to observe that the furled sails and the line of boats confuse the eye...(mine, anyway)...

Re: Fishing Boats at Low Tide

I've got to agree with Randall. Really super atmosphere well painted boats but the sail on the foreground is confusing. Perhaps painting in the lifts and braces would help.

Lovely sky,I agree with Randall and Bryan about the atmospheric feel to the work.I also think that that sail is confusing.

Thanks Dave. I'm glad you all made the observation. I saw it when I painted it but guess I chose to ignore it. Here is The painting now after I made some adjustments.

Terrific atmosphere of a damp grey day. Grey but beautiful grey You the Master Brian! I love the sky as well.

Re: Fishing Boats at Low Tide

Well done Brian!
Wonderful muted colour tunes, - esp the foreground is perfect!
Let me add one thing to the boat in front. Due to the close distance to
the observer a little more rigging would do well. That one to the stern is ok,
some more to the sides and front would make it more complete I think.

Maybe you have a little photoshop like prog to play around with it a little.
The painting is really great but there is a little more potential.
BTW, cutting the sail was a good idea.

Regards
Udo
