AHH Romance

I have been working on this one for a while. It is almost finished except for spraying and framing.It was a photograph by Chuck Harding, who was nice enough to give me permission to use it in my are work. I have changed the BG, but that is all. This is a one in a million photo. Can you imagine being in the right place at the right time to get a photo like this.? I have seen thousands of antelope because I live in Montana, but I have never seen two of them touching muzzels. When you look at a thing too long you can't see it with fresh eyes, so CC is always welcome.

Thanks Lorna, Rich and Sue. It's always reassuring to hear good comments from people who know art. All Chuck asked was that I send him a pic of what I have done with his photo. I forgot to add that this is an 8 x 10 Ampersand board and Ampersand inks.

I think it's gorgeous but I will point you to three areas.
i) The dark line under both their jaws seems to confuse that area. Maybe something could be toned down
ii) The forequarters of the antelope facing us don't seem to go round the body on the right. This area may need to be worked so that it recedes round the corner
iii) The space under that same antelope just looks like it's missing something, maybe a hint of background beyond the antelope

I hope some of this makes sense and I also hope it's relevant. Sometimes the originals read differently to the scans so have a look and see what you think, but don't get too stressed about the changes I've suggested as it's lovely anyway.

Thanks for the help Patrick. I do see all of your area's of concern and will work on it some more. The back ground on the ref pic was just impossible for me to recreate so I adlibed some of my own. You can see no legs at all on either antelope in the original photo so I just scratched some in and tried to cover them. I agree it does need some more work. I was about ready to quit on it and spray it because I have so many other irons in the fire. I will hold off on spraying it until I can have time to rework it some more.
