Hey Lee, do you want to go paint at the preserve in Rye with me soon? I'm getting itchy for a day at the shore there.

Hi Jamie, Do you mean THAT PLACE where I got the BEE STING last fall?
Maybe in a week or so...it gets kind of chilly there...I'll let you know.

Hi Jamie, You mean THAT PLACE where I got the BEE STING last fall?
I'll let you know...it's most likely still very chilly there near the water.

I didn't know about that bee sting!
You and I were there early spring last year. It was a beautiful, warm day. I went over to the LI Sound side of the sand bar while you and John painted on the inland side. I set my beach chair and umbrella in the sand on the deserted beach and painted so contentedly with my little pochade box in my lap. That's what I want again! Yes, definitely let's wait for a warm day!

Re: Forgot my THALO Green !
Love that pink tree, Lee! It looks like a flowering cherry to me...if the blooms were realllllly fluffy looking, that was probably what it was.
Re: thalo. I don't know why more people don't use it. Think of all the money you save- one tube should last you about 20 years, it goes so far. On my face, on my hands, on my clothes, oh, and some gets on the painting as well-
Another terrific painting, thanks for sharing it, Lee.

Thanks Annabella!
It's definately a cherry tree..even us "city boyz" know that !
Thalo when used correctly is a wonderful addition to my palette...when not used correctly...

Lee,
I was at Westbury on Sunday Afternoon. The Tulips are out. Everything is coming to life. We need to get together there this season.

Re: Forgot my THALO Green !
I'm not a big fan of Thalo Green or Thalo anything for that matter. I like to work with a very limited pallette myself.
I don't think you missed the mark at all! I like your greens and the painting!
By the way, if anyone is interested, there is a great plein air event taking place in Reno this summer. It will be on the Truckee River. There is a website about the event at www.eldoradoreno.com/events/2005/artown.php .
Your supposed to be able to access information at the Artown site (artown is a month long celebration of the arts), but I haven't found it on the artown website ( www.renoisartown.com).
Has anyone read Craig Nelson's book "60 minutes to better painting" ? I've heard it's worthwhile, but would like to get some feedback from anyone that has read it.
Cheers!
