Huge 5ft diameter saw blade complete

This is a commission I recently finished of a whopping 5 foot diameter saw blade. The blade weighs 200 lbs! It is going to be placed on a covered porch off the client's house. One Shot enamels were used and it took about 80-90 hours. Happy to be done with this one! Thanks to Dave Hawk for the advice on using the One Shots. C & C welcome!

Wow, very attractive! Are One Shots hard to mix and work with, or do they handle more or less like a liquid oil paint?

Re: Huge 5ft diameter saw blade complete

Thanks, Bluegill! This was my first time using these paints. I did some research and Dave Hawk on here recommended them. I did see your post about the stone wall you will be painting. Wow, that's quite the undertaking! About the One Shots, they are a hard exterior enamel. Its a sign painters paint. They are pricey, so for the amount you would need, it wouldn't be cost effective. But it would def hold up! Yeah, I would think they are similar to a liquid oil paint, maybe a tad thicker. Being an oil painter, I did struggle with the drying time. They don't dry as fast as acrylics, but they do dry faster than my oils, and working such a large area, I did struggle with that a little bit and also I did have some waste due to them drying out as I was working. They are a high gloss enamel. I am happy how this project turned out and def recommend the One Shots. Any future exterior art projects, I now know what paints I will be using!

Mighty pretty painting there! Great job-and a gorgeous homestead too.

I use the clear one shot for dipping my Ukrainian eggs-fantastic stuff!

Fantastic stuff! It will wow every visitor, from any viewing distance

One question though (and I'm asking this, having never been to the US or UK) - is it The Wilsons, or the Wilson's?

Normally there's no apostrophe to make a plural, was wondering if there's an exception for family names and house signs.

Once again, fantastic work!

Beautiful job! I have used One Shots, and I personally find them quite gummy and difficult to deal with, therefore I am even MORE impressed with the fantastic results you have achieved. The details are very nicely done. Thanks so much for sharing!

I would have to agree with Calin, I was going to mention it as well but am guessing you really, REALLY don't want to have to change it... :/

Tracy you did a wonderful job with the paint. One shot is I think one of the only paints that have lead in them with makes them very hard.
A way to quicken the drying time would be to add a drop of Japan Dryers. This works great for speeding up the drying time.

Michele I'd advise a few drops of thinner if your having problems with it being gummy. One shot is very dense in color.
