Another Country Road

Oils on Panel
From pic I took
Todayís work about 6 Hrs. Maybe Iíll make adjustments when itís dry. Let me know what you see. Also, I shoot the paintings with my iPad, when I upload pics they always lose resolution and get a little blurry. Any suggestions?

Re: Another Country Road

You definitely have a style. You handle masses of trees very well and I love your subtle color mixes.

I have a blurring issue on my iPhone. My Apple laptop has two photo manipulation programs. The freebie on my desktop has a "Sharpness" function. It will clear up a blurry picture. I have to be careful to use it judiciously. BTW, I did not think of this picture as blurry but you have the original for comparison.

Great work BC! The trees and colors throughout are so well done. The only minute thing I see is that as the road goes over that hill it looks the same width as it goes back to the horizon. It may jut be the tree hiding the right side as it goes back. Love the painting overall!

Re: Another Country Road

Thanks Wes.
Good eye, I was reflecting on the same issue after cleaning my brushes. There is a patch of snow peeking through the tree branches on the right side that needs to be extended up covering the grey road color. That should fix the road width.

Re: Another Country Road

Beautifully done BC....love the palette you used on this one. Great perspective and the depth as well.
Nice catch on that touch of snow you mention to add in for better perspective on the distant road.

Re: Another Country Road

Nice work- I especially like your treatment of the far tree line! You may push the foreground contrasts more.
The uploader will downsize all images to a limit of 800 pixels regardless of what you take the picture with-

Re: Another Country Road

Love it Boogie! That greeny grey on the road is excellent set against those beautiful warm tree colours and the white snow. Lovely perspective and it looks like it would be a great road to drive along, although may be not in that weather!

Re: Another Country Road

Excellent work Boogie that almost wet slushy snow in the foreground on the road is wonderfully captured. Love the way the scene draws me into the distance and then back again to the foreground, lots of interest with the variety of trees.

Thank you oldmnartist, Reddyman, kentiessen, CaliAnn, Bizzibee, and Skyenorth
for commenting.
Here is the painting finished for now. Iím rarely sure when a work can be called done, as I sometimes make changes even years later. I guess Iíll call it done if itís sold or given away.

Re: Another Country Road

Very nice! This looks so familiar to me, especially as we wait patiently for the warmth of spring. You created the cold feel of winter but there is light and the subtle beauty of non-green tree tops. I hope you can get outside to paint soon!

Re: Another Country Road

Great sense of hilly, country roads in winter! I like the bare trees and the hints of warming sunlight across the scene.

Re: Another Country Road

Donna, oldradagast, thank you for your comments.

Well, I made another adjustment to the road where it turns, seems to be better scaled now.
