Question Art Stix & Oil Pastels...

are they the same thing please? If not, could they be successfully used along side Prismas/Luminence/other coloured pencils for eg. large background areas? I realise they're oil rather than wax.

Many thanks

Ange

No, they aren't hte same thing. Prismacolor art stix are the same thing as their leads. Don't know if they can be used together, give it a try!

You can go fat over thin but not the other way...oil pastels work very nicely over the pencil but not the other way. I have used them in the past and had fairly good results...

George, thank you for this. That's curious, over pencil but not under - will give this a try on spare piece of paper.
