Graphic Magnolia X-posted Feb floral challenge

I painted this for the Feb Floral/botanical challenge. Didn't come out like I had first envisaged, but the colors and boldness makes me happy when I look at it.

30x15" Strathmore 140# CP paper with WN and MaimeriBlu paints.

All C&C appreciated.

One of your boldest paintings, the colors are striking and the graphic technique demands attention. May not be what you saw in your head when you started but that happens sometimes; what you painted is easily one of your best florals. Definitely a winner!

An interesting comment that it didn't look the way you expected. Sometimes the best learning and progress comes when we lose our map and just get by on our wits.

I agree that it's a very striking image.

Re: Graphic Magnolia X-posted Feb floral challenge

Thank you, Doug and Pat.
Thank you, Rob. I'm pleased with it even though I've gotten mixed reactions here.
Rex, it was a challenge to paint like Georgia O'Keeffe. I tried to blend the colors better and it just didn't seem to work, so I just figured, "What the heck" and went bold.
Thank you Katherine and Pedro.
I appreciate all of you taking time to comment.

Thank you, Char! I know it's an unusual piece for watercolor, being so bold.
