Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

Thanks Elaine, Elizabeth & Patti for your kind comments. Following these demos and receiving all the encouraging comments along the way has really given me the boost I needed and started me off on the right track.

Thanks

Pam

Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

Good Morning Everyone ,

Well, I did a few adjustments to my winter scene, lightened up the grass, put in my negative spots in the trees(see thru spots), moved my fence over a little and added my tree shadows.

I think it turned out okay, I'm still not happy with the sky now But, ...geesh I'm still a beginner
Thanks for everyone's advice and comments. And they are still welcome
Hope everyone has a great day!

Rafty - Nice changes, this is really a big improvement. You could use it for a Christmas card. Actually your sky doesn't look bad in the picture from what I can see. After all a winter sky like this is mostly grays except in Florida... ours are usually blue. I still don't like my skies either, but I keep on truckin' and maybe someday I will paint one I really llike.

Rafty: Cute painting! It has a happy look to it that is welcome after a long winter.

Elizabeth: I love the soft glowing light in your winter tree scene. Thanks for the step-by-step, too!

Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

Hi Rafty! You've done a beautiful job on those edits to your painting! GREAT sky holes in those trees and the bushes look much, much better now! The shadows really brought the painting to life and the fence (and the snow on it) is awesome! Nice work all the way around! About the sky...to me, it doesn't look wrong OR bad. The snow is brighter, which it will be because it's white and reflective. Give yourself a big pat on the back for this. You did good!!!

Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

hey everyone

Patti, thank you for your complement ..yep blue skies, but storm clouds every 15 minutes in the summer it's the practice that makes it Fun

Pam, thanks , it was a struggle to do it at first, but I'm happy how it turned out.

Michelle, thank you...there are still a couple of things I'm skeptical on but I had fun

Susme, thanks ...maybe after this move is complete I can relax and concentrate more..

Oldrad, thanks...it was a fun one to paint, but hard to decide on what to paint

Elizabeth, Thank you for the complements and encouragement. Your class has been a great help and great fun. I look forward to many more

I must say for a beginner like me you all have been wonderful. You all are always full of encouragement and great advice, even just watching and reading is educational Not to mention humorous at times too

Thanks again everyone...back to the brushes!
