It is always fun and educational to read how artists repurpose household or workshop items for their art. Recently, I heard of an artist who stated that if it wasn't at the hardware store, he didn't use it.
It is also possible to repurpose OP's.
This weekend, I inadvertently knocked off a flake of paint on the kitchen wall, leaving a small but obvious white spot on an otherwise reddish wall. I found that Sennelier permanent red, Neopastel burnt sienna, and a red Artist Loft as blender worked great.
