Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hey! I'm Carol, a 60+ wife, mother and grandmother. I started drawing for the first time (other than horses as a girl) in March, after using cheap colored pencils in adult coloring books. I bought more expensive pencils and also became interested in watercolors, after observing my 89 year old mother's art lessons. Long story short, I'm addicted to both mediums and have graduated to artist grade watercolors, Polychromos and Albrecht Durer pencils (combining both of my passions) and all varieties of paper and accoutrements. I'm currently self taught from WetCanvas and YouTube, but I look forward to taking classes as my schedule allows. What a learning curve, but I'm in for the long haul!

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

Hello everyone!

I've been meaning to join this community for a while now and I'm glad I finally came around to doing so. As of late I've had a massive infatuation with colored pencils, despite being a newbie artist.

As a result I'm now slowly growing a collection and would love to share the joy with others (that can probably understand gushing over pencils, as most of my real life friends find it very odd )

I hope to learn from all of you and improve my art with time. Thank you

Welcome, Carol. I have often remembered a girl in my 5th grade class that drew fantastic horses. I have just as often wished that I had gotten her to give me pointers. Welcome to WC and the Forum.

Hello Carol and Anoncat. Think you'll have fun here. I have all sorts of CPs, and all of sorts strange tools and gizmos and papers. (I think Ann Kullberg has a kit which calls for a small blow torch. I have not succumbed to that. My husband doesn't want me running around in the house with one. Don't know why?)

You'll find tons of info here. And interesting discussions. Have fun.

Re: Who are you? I really want to know!!

New to the forum..oldie in age. Im 56 and im a beginner airbrush artist. Im in the transition to move to Missouri so all my equipment is packed up so while i wait i thought i would give colored pencils a try. All of my art is self taught but i didnt think colored pencils would be that bad to get a grip on. Was i ever wrong, but i am stubborn and when i want to do something i do it so i will figure it out.
