Question Anybody have anything by this company?

Hi there,

I would like to look into various studio furniture from Craftech Inc. They make these amazing things! For example, the Sienna counterweight easel, the Sienna plein air easel, and, more famously, the Artisan Grand line of gorgeous painting tables and that easel! This is Blick's page for this company with all their stuff they make:
http://www.dickblick.com/brands/craftech/

The problem is, I have heard from too many people already, that although their designs for furniture are absolutely brilliant, the way they are made is on the cheaper side. People have had problems with some things breaking, and some people say the wood on the easel they got is too soft, and honestly, from every person I have talked to, I have heard at least one flaw about every product Craftech makes, all but 2, relate to the way the product has been made.

This is Craftech's website: http://www.craftech-intl.com/

The problem is I really want them so bad... for a while now I have been looking into various items from their studio furniture, just to consider them, and my local art store can even have them brought in for me so I don't have to pay shipping and order online.

I just want to know if any of you out here have had any longevity issues with any Craftech product you may have bought?

Do you have anything by them? Have you used them for a while? Or maybe you just have an opinion about them?

Anything would be helpful and greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much.

Re: Anybody have anything by this company?

I know for a fact that some people on here have their furniture, as I have seen them post pictures. I just hope they see my thread.

For anyone interested, here are some pix:

Here are some more!

There are, of course, MANY more pieces of furniture that are amazing from this company, these are just a few examples.

Looks almost to pretty to paint on ...

I would have to go along with the rumors, had one of the Sienna pochades for awhile and, finally, sold it. Attractive products, pretty, but a lil rickety... American made stuff may be pricey, but I luv my new OBM pochade & accessories .. Extremely light, quality Plein Air stuff. More importantly, it all works and I'm NOT seeking something else!
