Great work Antonin! Lovely brushwork in the first, but I'm particularly impressed with the 2nd painting. Incredible atmosphere and effective use of color. Carlson talks about being reserved in the use of color to make a painting go beyond the average to making it great. Essentially he's talking about mastering the use of subtlety, which makes a painting more believable to the viewer. To me these are great examples of that. Your color notes feel right and they sing without shouting. It takes a good eye to pull that off.
