I usually glue something down on my canvas. I think I used tissue paper on this, then do a random color background with a brush, then, in this case, I used the back of a plastic spoon to apply acrylic paint. Sometimes I like to use the smooth side of a stamp (like the rubber stamps you buy with a figure on the front)

I thought it looked like mixed media or something similar. Very interesting techniques in this, and what a beautiful result! Thanks for explaining your process.

Bevahlee,

Nice painting, looks like an abstract waterfall.

I guess small is in the eye of the painter, I paint a lot of 6"*8", but I have painted ACEOs 2.5"*3.5". To me a 16*20 is big, but I have painted a 2'*4'. Just curious, what is your idea of big?
