If you’ve participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347
Here are the rules for the hunt:
Scavenger Hunt #599: Aug 17 – Aug 25*All items on the list must be sketched from life – not imagination or photo reference.
*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.
*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.
*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.
Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don’t have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt “week” will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.
Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.
*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***
Here’s the list:

zipperChallenges:
Without pre-planning, sketch a figure you saw yesterday doing something … friend, mailman, spouse, etc. In other words, don’t decide today what you will sketch tomorrow, just glance back a day. This will be sort of like blind contour drawing. Ha.Use a different medium for a sketch on dark paper.
Do some or all in alphabetical order.
Have fun!

Scatty, you found the perfect mug for me. Love it!! Well done.
Book cover in the travel sketchbook with a Pilot Ball Point Pen, didn’t have any sketch tools handy.
My couch is just because it is here in the house and different to me. They are slick leather and big. The recliner part is so hard to use. As old folks we get in and can’t get out. Ha. Micron 02 and watercolor. Stopped to do something and didn’t get the color back …. sigh.We may be back in a routine for a week or so, then more company. It is good to get out of our rut.

August 19, 2019 at 9:57 pm #868388Hello everyone.
Ai – Great watercolors, the dog is wonderful, and the book too. The couch seems like a good place to rest after so much work.
Scatty – The book and the cup are superb and good work from memory too. I like how you date and sign your sketches. What is scav ht sketchy? I guess it is a kind of paper but can not find it.
Jo – excellent sketches, I like John Grisham and haven`t read that one, could spend some hours on that couch with it.
1- Fruit
2- Yogurt
Watercolors on an A5 sheet of canson imagine mix media paper. This was challenging enough by itself but I enjoyed it, should have sketched the plate as well and put some shadows but was tired already and now the fruit is in my belly .
C&C are welcome as well as any corrections on my English.
