My 4th item. While not my “favorite” book, it is the one I’m reading now.
Watercolor
Pen
Colored pencil
Masking fluid

Ai — Thanks, and love your adorable animals with their cheerful colors and great patterns! I feel like they're friends with each other 🐾

Joe — Thanks for your kind words 😊

Jo — Thanks so much! Beautiful sketch — love the lean and the wave — all that life! ☀️

Lynda — Welcome home, and great sketches! Love your bai drink with those nice melty colors — I went and bought my first bai the other day because your lovely sketch made it look so tempting. Delicious stuff! 🍓 Lovely and interesting yarn, and process 🐾 Also, interesting wire weaving book, beautifully sketched 🌟 Your art has piqued my curiosity about several subjects, and broadened my horizons. So good to see you back here!

Linda - Your Kerry Hill fleeces? Do you raise sheep? Did you shear them? The spindle is well done but comment raises lots of questions? Wire wrap? You are multi-talented. Have you done any yet? May we see? Nice work on the book.

Pine Cone -

Keep Sketching

Re: Scavenger Hunt #594: Jul 8 - Jul 16

We made it to Angel Fire (AXX airline code for short) last night. All well, it was 42 degrees F this morning and is now about 78. Very nice!! I think it is 100 at home.

Lynda, the spindle looks great to me. Love the blue yarn. The book cover is great. Wire sculpture looks like fun, but hard on the fingers.

Hi Pine Cone, Ai, Joe and all the lurkers.

Scatty, an interesting and beautiful dragon piece. You sketched it very well with good textures.

Maybe I can sketch later. I forgot the big book, wanted to put "new" things in it. Rats. Maybe I will glue some in like collage. We shall see. We are mostly unpacked and our friends arrive tomorrow night or Monday so we can do the Paint Out starting on Tuesday.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #594: Jul 8 - Jul 16

Scatty - Cool dragon sketch. I have dabbled enough in water color to know shading like that is not easy.

Jo - Glad y'all got there safe.

Ai - I know I keep saying it but adding the photos not only lets us appreciate your pieces better but gives us peeks into the beautiful culture of your country.

I did 2 sketches both ATC sized thanks to Jo and her coasters. Both are graphite only used 2B.

1 hat
2 bathroom sink
3 something crystal. The bowl in upper right is crystal. It has some fancy little soaps in it.

Keep sketching
Joe

#5 from my garden -- sketching our dragon fruit cactus flower in under 15 minutes

#6 sub. my favorite beverage with my favorite food -- a bowl of chicken noodle

... Thanks to this kind noodle shop owner who happily let me sit there to sketch, not rush me out, she even added extra noodle soup to my bowl again after 20 minutes sketching time had passed and my noodle turned up drier.

Joe— Thanks I've got one more sketch for this event I've been working on the last few days. Should have enough of it done by today or tomorrow to post as is.

Fun, breezy hat, and lovely sink. Love the soft shading and beautiful shape. Reminds me of a seashell. Gorgeous.

Scatty — Thanks so much Your MOP dragon is fantastic, both the item and your sketch. I agree with Joe about the quality of your subtle coloring and shading 🎨

Jo — Glad you're there safe and settling in. Have fun

Ai — Lovely sketches and glimpses of your life and your amazing country! That dragon fruit cactus flower is sure exotic wow

Re: Scavenger Hunt #594: Jul 8 - Jul 16

item #1 - something from a favorite pastime

Sky at Night magazine special issue

A fav pastime for me is looking into the night sky 😍😍😍

And another is reading about it. The Moon, the stars, deep space, planets, physics, all of it 😍😍😍

Lately, I've been reading all about NASA's Apollo 11 mission because of the 50th anniversary !!! I got the print version of this magazine-book at my local Barnes & Noble.

In my time zone, the anniversary dates for Apollo 11 go like this.....

-----> Tuesday, July 16 ............ anniversary of the launch 😂

-----> Saturday, July 20 ........... anniversary of mankind's landing on the Moon 😂

-----> Saturday, July 20 ........... anniversary of the Neil Armstong's first step 😂

Here is a link to a picture of the actual magazine-book (if it works):

Here's a smaller size:

Tools:

iPad Pro, Apple Pencil.

Procreate app (old version) for the painting.

Art Studio Pro app for the downsize, border, and export.

Process:

Virtual acrylic on virtual panel.

Freehand. No drafting tools or tracing, digital or otherwise.

No grid or smoothing or symmetry or cloning, digital or otherwise.

No digital filters or effects. No digital color intensification or exaggeration.
