Re: September - October 2015 Portrait Challenge!

Here is my admission to this Challenge.

I chose to paint the nude but this came out as a not that good choice as the photograph wasn't that clear in the first place and I chose to work in a relatively small size..

So the face turned out to be almost a miniature. So perhaps it would be good idea to x post it to miniature forum too.
Anyway. Here is my version of the nude.

Nude
Van Gogh Watercolors on 35x28cm Saunders Waterford 300grs HP paper.

And a close up of the face ( the miniature as the face is 6cm long )

C&C as always welcomed.

Thank you for looking.

A lovely work Marialena . . . . I'm sure the figure forum would be keen to see it.

Tks Nancy . . . .

Re: September - October 2015 Portrait Challenge!

I'm a very new member and wondered if I could comment on older posts? First, Molloncolly - your portrait is so beautifully done! Thank you for showing the developmental steps. I love how you captured her haunting expression! I love the fine details you included, like the detailing of eyebrow and lashes - the hair, with all it's wisps, - just wonderful!
Marialena, I love your watercolor painting! The face is beautiful!
I hope I will be able to figure out how to post some of my own portraits soon, too.

You too, Kevin. Your digital portrait is brilliant, as is everything you do. Really appreciate the WIP views. Thanks for hosting the challenge!

Wow you are all hard acts to follow! But since this is for fun and personal challenge, I will toss this out there. Thanks for the challenge!
Done in pastel.

Re: September - October 2015 Portrait Challenge!

I hope it's not too late to include my charcoal portraits in the Challenge. I've had them ready for a couple of weeks, but I'm a newbie here and had some difficulty posting my pictures. I'm hoping this works now. I love seeing everyone's portraits and especially the critiques! Now that I have the uploading photos part down, I plan on posting some of my paintings soon, too.

REMINDER!

I just want to pop in and remind everyone that the Annual Holiday Portrait Swap is coming up!

Te deadline (October 31) is only a week away (8 days, actually)!

I just want to make sure that folks don't miss out in it who haven't already signed up.

Re: September - October 2015 Portrait Challenge!

Hello everyone, as I have decided to join this challenge, I had a look at every drawing/painting and I want to say that it is amazing
So much diversity in styles and treatments!
Very interesting to see how you see!
This is my first layer for this girl, I hope having the time to work more on it, if the challenge ends at the end of the month, it will be difficult.
However...this is an oil on canvas

Have a good day!

Wow amatheur, you really changed it into a piece of art. Love how your background and clothes are in the same range.
