I have never tried oil paint before but ended up winning a small set on an Instagram giveaway. I was so excited to try it out but didn’t have much for ideas so I used this tiny (2×2 inches?) canvas. I also found out I had no patience when it came to blending everything just right so I opted for the more painterly route. It was fun. :D

Nice little oil painting your strokes give the illusion of muscle on the horse. Not blending your paint is bold. I’m happy to hear you had fun. Can hardly wait to see your next little work of art.

Leah, this is really nice! You did well for your very first one. Now you are on a roll.

The painterly style suits minis so well, plus it’s my favourite. :)

You did beautifully on this, it’s absolutely charming.

Well done on this version of the horse too, Leah!

Oops, I haven’t been back here in a little while. Thanks for the comments, everyone. I really want to use these paints to work on a bigger painting I have partially done in acrylics but I like how quickly I can paint something small and still feel productive. :D
