An amazing job. It has an illustrative feel to it.

Yes, I try to paint more impressionistic, but my subjects always seem to cry for details. As with most paintings, there actually are impressionistic dabs everywhere in this work (if viewed a foot or two from the canvas). I'll take "illustrative" as a definite compliment! Thanks for looking, Yorky. I enjoy your work.

Mind blown! How did you get all the lines so straight? Sorry, I am really a newbie here. I am really lost for words.

Richard, I've never had a reliably steady hand. So, I use a mahl stick to rest my hand or even help to guide the brush for long, straight lines. Purchase one at any good art supply (or make one).

Many artists also use rigger brushes for long, thin lines (named for painting the rigging in ships). They have long bristles which hold more thin paint. Sign painters often use these. With a little practice, it's not very hard.

One can also use a palette knife to get wonderful edges and lines. I've even read that folks use credit cards or razor blades. Artists are a pretty inventive lot. Welcome to WC.

- Mike
